Author Biography

Dimitrina Spencer

I studied history and anthropology at Sofia University, Bulgaria, and completed my doctorate in anthropology at ISCA and Linacre College, University of Oxford. Some of my fieldwork about the relationships between people and states has included a focus on schools and universities. I am currently based at the Department of Education, University of Oxford and I am interested in the affective aspects of pedagogy: I am researching my own teaching (on a PGDipLATHE course at Oxford) and the learning and teaching practices among interdisciplinary scientists at the University of Oxford. Since 2004, I have been teaching anthropology to both graduates and undergraduates and, since 2006, I have been committed to developing learning and teaching also as coordinator of the Graduate Tutors Forum at the School of Anthropology, University of Oxford.
